We're currently looking for a People Relations Advisor to join our Rochdale Distribution Centre!
Job Title: People Relations Advisor (DC)
Location: Rochdale OL16 4GR
Working hours: 8:00-16:30 (Can be flexible around this)
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Provide practical and effective first line employee relations advice across the Distribution Centre, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and family-friendly policies.
2. Manage queries empathetically and communicate outcomes clearly to minimise appeals.
3. Collaborate with the wider People team by sharing knowledge.
4. Support and coach Line Managers to manage employee relations matters effectively.
5. Support the People team during various processes and initiatives.
6. Maintain an excellent working knowledge of employment legislation, best practices, and case law.
7. Work autonomously, prioritising tasks with guidance from the People Relations management team.
8. Use Occupational Health appropriately within casework and write referrals to OH Advisors.
9. Ensure fair application of employee relations policies and identify improvements.
10. Understand the Group’s statutory responsibilities.
11. Maintain clear audit trails for all People records in accordance with GDPR.
12. Assist in executing critical People processes within relevant timescales.
What We're Looking For:
1. CIPD qualification to Level 5 preferred; Level 3 considered with substantial relevant HR experience.
2. Previous HR/People Advisor experience in a dynamic environment managing high-volume complex cases.
3. Strong knowledge of employment legislation and People Relations policies.
4. Ability to offer advice and take minutes in formal meetings, ensuring accurate documentation.
5. Effective communication skills to guide, influence, and challenge practices appropriately.
6. Clear and articulate communication with all stakeholders.
7. Proficiency in Office365 and HR Systems; experience with CoreHR/PeopleXD advantageous.
8. Accurate typing skills with attention to detail.
9. Experience working in a constantly changing environment.
10. Flexibility to work outside standard hours if needed for a 24/7 operation.
