Senior Contract Manager
Location: Reading / Thames Valley / Wiltshire / Hampshire
Salary: £58,100 - £87,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time
Reporting to the Procurement & Commercial Manager, the Senior Contract Manager will provide pre-and post-contract procurement and commercial support for a variety of projects including complex large capital projects.
Responsibilities
* Manage the tender process for capital projects from invitation to tender through to contract award and subsequent commercial management of the delivery phase, including managing commercial staff.
* Procure essential work scopes at lowest cost of ownership following principles of efficiency and best value, covering all commercial, business and legal project risks and negotiating terms to ensure ongoing value for money.
* Develop and implement Procurement and Commercial strategies in line with Capital Projects Governance requirements.
* Provide cost estimating, cost reporting and forecasting throughout the lifecycle of projects.
* Support the Head of Procurement & Commercial, the Procurement & Commercial Manager and the Project Management team to deliver large construction projects with accurate forecasting, contractor relationship management and strategic thinking at a portfolio level.
Qualifications
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, and working towards or holding professional membership such as RICS or CICES.
* Knowledge of the Utilities Contract Regulations and Procurement Act 23.
* Understanding of commercial governance arrangements for large capital projects, including commercial, contract and cost experience.
* Extensive experience in project cost management, including estimating, forecasting, budgeting, and drafting/negotiating NEC Suite construction contracts.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, strong commercial acumen, and a continuous improvement mindset.
