The Opportunity
This post represents an exciting opportunity join a small and highly motivated team of colleagues in Keele University’s Information & Digital Services Directorate. The Directorate is responsible for the smooth running of technology and infrastructure for the University. Your role is a key to ensuring the security, development, and operation of cybersecurity, enabling the university to work safely and efficiently.
This is a key role to the successful provision of the university’s cybersecurity posture taking an active position in monitoring and investigation of cybersecurity events, triaging business as usual events and project work to maintain and advance the Information & Digital Services strategic plan. You will be active in operational project work to advance the Cybersecurity Strategy both as an integral part of the Cybersecurity team within Information & Digital Services and as liaison across university departments.

You will be aware of Cybersecurity Principles and have experience in problem solving with an IT background. Attention to detail and a methodical approach to issues arising and a considered approach to working under potentially pressured timeframes and events will be an advantage.

You will have evidencable experience of IT monitoring systems and a general proficiency in server infrastructure, networking, cloud administration and operating systems.

An ability to manage your own work is essential due to size of the team.

This role is hybrid with the incumbent expected to be on site at least 3 times a week or when required for longer pieces of work at the Keele Campus.
