Finance Manager | Real Estate Development | Central London (Hybrid Working) | £90,000 | Permanent Role
Robert Half are recruiting for a Finance Manager to join a growing, international real estate development business on a permanent basis, based in Central London.
This is a highly technical and commercially exposed role, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, support complex development and investment structures, and play a key role in shaping financial reporting and controls across the EMEA region.
The business operates across large-scale industrial and logistics development projects, partnering through joint ventures to acquire, develop, and deliver high-value assets. With an entrepreneurial and evolving environment, finance plays a critical role in supporting growth, ensuring technical accuracy, and influencing decision-making.
About the Position
Reporting into the Finance Director, you will play a key role in supporting the business through:
* Managing and reviewing the month-end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany reporting, and variance analysis.
* Supporting financial reporting and consolidations across EMEA, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local reporting standards.
* Preparing technical accounting papers, including revenue recognition, acquisitions, disposals, and complex development arrangements.
* Leading on joint venture and equity accounting, including consolidation assessments (VIE vs VOE).
* Reviewing real estate valuations and ensuring accurate accounting treatment and documentation.
* Overseeing statutory accounts and working closely with auditors and external advisors.
* Partnering with tax specialists to ensure compliance across VAT and corporate structures.
* Supporting system improvements, automation initiatives, and wider finance transformation projects.
* Interpreting legal agreements (including development management agreements) and translating them into clear accounting treatment.
* Acting as a key point of contact for senior stakeholders, providing technical guidance and challenge where required.
What We're Looking For

ACA qualified, ideally trained within a Big 4 environment.
* Strong technical accounting experience across US GAAP, IFRS, and UK GAAP.
* Demonstrable experience in joint venture and equity accounting, this is essential.
* Experience within real estate, property development, or fund structures (e.g. fund accounting / fund control) is highly advantageous.
* Proven ability to interpret complex legal agreements and translate into accounting outcomes.
* Experience preparing accounting memos and communicating technical concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
* Strong analytical and organisational skills, with high attention to detail.
* Confident communicator, able to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
* Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with developing processes and controls.
