Introduction
The Lewisham Adults with Learning Disability Service is a forward thinking team who are looking for an aspiring, passionate and motivated Advanced Practitioner who are dedicated to making a difference in people's lives. Strong social care values, flexibility, a 'can do' approach and professional high standards are essential, as will be the ability to robustly advocate for people. This post is based in the Transitions Team as the lead professional in Autism. We want to attract the right candidate who is excited by best approaches to delivering support to adults to join us on our journey in one of our pioneering services.
You should have at least -years practice experience in a senior social worker post; possess experience of staff supervision; be familiar with the requirements for supervising adult learners; and demonstrate a readiness to work collaboratively and transform lives.
What’s the role?
In your role as a Advanced Practitioner in Autism you will work as the designated lead for Autism within Adult Social Care. The role holder will hold a small case load of complex cases will model and support others to deliver reflective practice that meets local standards and is congruent with the vision, values and practice framework, promoting relationships and engagement with people with lived experience. Will support and deputise for the Lead Operational Manager/ Operational Manager providing supervision, advice, mentoring and consultation to newly qualified and less experienced social workers. Will manage and evaluate the performance of colleagues in line with guidance for Assessed Supported Year in Employment (AYSE) and Council policy. Will lead on promoting the continuing professional development of colleagues within the service, including facilitating team practice development and group supervision sessions.

You will work collaborate closely with the Adult Social Care Workforce and Practice Development Service, headed by the Principal Social Worker (Adults).
This is an exciting time to join the team, the Autism lead role is a new role within the service, you will have the opportunity to shape and develop the role within the team and contribute to the wider learning in the area of neurodiversity.
Location
Laurence House is mins south of London Bridge via train, we are based in in Catford SE with mainline train stations - minutes’ walk from the office and numerous bus routes that stop outside the offices. Whilst the service is primarily based in Laurence House, we operate a hybrid working approach as determined by service requirements.
