HR / People Advisor

Permanent – ideally full time but 4 days or condensed working week considered.

Swindon, Bath or Bristol with 2–3 days per week in the office.

Salary £35,000 to max £42,000 plus excellent benefits.

As HR Advisor you will be the first point of contact for HR advice across all business areas. You will provide proactive, end‑to‑end support and solutions across all stages of the employee life cycle, including employee relations, performance management, policies and practices, organisational change and development needs. You will also support recruitment activity alongside the Talent Acquisition team and attend the office 2–3 days per week to build positive relationships with key stakeholders. You should be proactive, solutions‑focused and continually seek improvements to foster a positive working environment.


Key Accountabilities

* Advising and coaching line managers on recruitment, employee relations, performance and absence management, employee engagement, change and wellbeing.
* Supporting all people managers to ensure best‑practice HR solutions are implemented and followed.
* Discussing resource needs with managers and liaising with the talent acquisition team on role sourcing and interview support.
* Liaising with managers on performance and development areas and supporting on processes.
* Responsible for onboarding, delivering induction, quarterly new‑starter check‑in reports and supporting managers with new‑starter contracts.
* Managing all absence processes, including holiday, family leave and sickness.
* Supporting the annual pay review process, including benchmarking, liaising with managers and confirming documentation.
* Reviewing all drafted letters (contracts, changes to terms & conditions, flexible working, probation, leaver letters) and completing exit interviews.
* Reporting exit interview themes to HR Business Partners.
* Managing employee engagement initiatives, employee forum, wellbeing champions, ED&I committee, engagement surveys and firm‑wide initiatives.


Key Skills / Experience

* CIPD qualified – ideally Level 5 or currently studying towards.
* Sound understanding of HR policies, practices and employment legislation, able to advise, coach and influence at all levels.
* Practical application of the UK Employment legislative framework.
* Strong experience in HR processes – performance management, talent selection, leavers, absence management, etc.
* Excellent communicator, keeping the wider HR team informed of developments.
* Confident in dealing directly with senior stakeholders and building relationships at all levels.
* Proactive, comfortable initiating or suggesting process improvements.
* Passionate about delivering high standards of service, with a positive ‘can‑do’ attitude.
* Desire to drive change and make things happen.
* Solutions‐focused advice to the business.
