<div><p><b>Job Role:</b> Student Wellbeing Practitioner</p><p><b>Department:</b> Student Services</p><p><b>Reporting to:</b> Senior Safeguarding & Welfare Officer</p><p><b>Contract:</b> Part Time, Permanent, Term Time Only (40 weeks)</p><p><b>Salary:</b>£13,371.09 - £14,602.71 per annum (actual salary)</p><p><b>Hours:</b> 22.2 hours per week</p><p><b>Annual Leave:</b> N/A Term Time Only</p><p><b>Pension:</b> NEST Pension Scheme</p><h3>The Role</h3><p>We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Student Wellbeing Practitioner to deliver targeted, early intervention support for students across the College. This role focuses on providing structured one-to-one and group wellbeing interventions to support students with low to medium level concerns, helping to build resilience and remove barriers to learning. Working within the safeguarding team, you will deliver wellbeing programmes, workshops, and digital resources on key topics such as relationships, bereavement, and substance awareness, while ensuring concerns are appropriately escalated. This is a collaborative role contributing to a consistent, whole‑college approach to wellbeing and improving student engagement and outcomes.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Provide structured one-to-one and group wellbeing interventions for students experiencing wellbeing concerns.</li><li>Act as an early intervention point, escalating safeguarding concerns in line with College policies.</li><li>Develop, deliver and evaluate a range of guided and self‑help wellbeing courses and interventions (face‑to‑face and digital).</li><li>Support the Senior Safeguarding & Welfare Officer and Student Engagement Lead with the planning, development and delivery of welfare and wellbeing events.</li><li>Maintain accurate, confidential records of all wellbeing interventions, course uptake and student engagement using College systems.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Level 3 qualification or above in a relevant area (e.g. wellbeing, health, youth work, mental health, social care) or equivalent experience.</li><li>Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).</li><li>Commitment to ongoing professional development.</li><li>Relevant degree or professional qualification.</li></ul><h3>Experience</h3><ul><li>Experience working in a student-facing or support role.</li><li>Experience delivering one-to-one and/or group wellbeing interventions.</li><li>Experience supporting young people or adults with wellbeing or emotional needs.</li><li>Experience within an education or further education environment.</li></ul><h3>Knowledge & Skill</h3><ul><li>Understanding of wellbeing issues affecting students, including loneliness, bereavement, relationships, risky behaviours and substance misuse.</li><li>Knowledge of safeguarding principles and appropriate escalation of concerns.</li><li>Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate wellbeing interventions and courses.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.</li></ul><h3>Why join us?</h3><ul><li>Substantial annual leave entitlement plus holiday purchase scheme.</li><li>Health & Wellbeing – free gym membership, 24/7 counselling for you and your family.</li><li>Family‑friendly policies: flexible hours and a supportive work environment.</li><li>Employee Assistance Programme (EAP): confidential support including financial advice.</li><li>Professional development: extensive training, mentoring, and career progression opportunities.</li><li>Funded CPD opportunities, regular staff development training, and paid volunteering days.</li><li>Access to discounted hair and beauty treatments at the onsite salon.</li><li>College benefit scheme – College Extras:
