Job Description
This role involves providing mechanical engineering support for related activities within the business, assisting process engineers in developing cost-effective, efficient mechanical tooling and processes for production, and designing, manufacturing, and validating jigs/fixtures required by production. The role also includes conducting mechanical investigations, reviewing vendor capabilities, and supporting feasibility studies at RFQ stage.
Responsibilities
1. Provide technical support for mechanical engineering activities within the business.
2. Design, manufacture, and validate production jigs and fixtures using internal and external capabilities.
3. Support procurement and quality departments in interactions with mechanical vendors regarding technical issues and capabilities.
4. Conduct feasibility reviews for mechanical RFQs.
5. Communicate technical mechanical information to internal departments, suppliers, and customers as needed.
6. Support process engineers and production from a mechanical perspective during prototype, NPI, and MRP stages.
7. Mentor junior mechanical engineers and apprentices daily.
8. Ensure compliance with company values, quality management, health and safety, legal, environmental policies, and duty of care.
9. Perform other duties as necessary.
