Important: This post is funded for the 2026/27 academic year onward; the successful candidate will not be expected to commence until after August 2026.

This role seeks an experienced Electrical Installation lecturer to deliver outstanding teaching, learning, assessment, and tutorial support to students. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development of the curriculum, employer engagement, and learner skills development.


Responsibilities

Act as Course Leader and Academic Tutor, creating and implementing innovative teaching, learning, and assessment strategies. Deliver teaching and assessment activities within your area of specialism, including lectures, coursework marking, practicals, and field work for undergraduates and postgraduates.


Qualifications & Experience

Hold a teaching qualification (or be working towards one). Be qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in Electrical Installation. Have recent teaching experience in Electrical Installation within an FE College, school, or private provider. Demonstrated knowledge of courses such as C&G 7202‑01, 2365‑02, 2365‑03, 8202‑30, EAL Electrotechnical, and T levels. Working knowledge of Green Skills technologies (solar/PV, EV chargers, air‑source heat pumps, retrofit) and experience delivering Electrical Inspection & Testing 2391/51 and 2391/52 and the 18th Edition BS7671: 2018.

Show strong evidence of good‑to‑outstanding teaching, learning, assessment, and tracking. Successful record of tutoring and supporting learners. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict validating body deadlines, providing evidence of assessment for moderation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both group and interpersonal settings.

Must be able to teach part‑time courses to adults, working a minimum of two evenings per week, with a day given in lieu during term time as remission.


Salary & Uplift

The base salary may include an uplift of up to £10,000 if the post holder meets the following criteria:

* Relevant vocational qualification (Level 3)
* Teaching qualification or willingness to complete one
* Relevant industry experience

Additionally, an uplift of up to £5,000 (pro rata) may apply if the candidate holds:

* JIB ECS card with a grade at approved Site Technician status
* Additional qualifications in Electrical Installation (e.g., 2382/18th Edition)
* Assessors Award D32/33 or TAQA equivalent
