Cyber Security Engineer | 6 month FTC | £43,500 | Hybrid (Leicester or London)
We’re hiring a Cyber Security Engineer to join a growing, forward-thinking team where you’ll play a hands-on role in protecting systems, data, and users.

The Role
You’ll work closely with our Cyber Security Manager, SOC, and IT teams to:
* Monitor, triage, and respond to security alerts
* Investigate incidents and support remediation activities
* Manage vulnerabilities and support patching across systems
* Strengthen endpoint security using the Microsoft security stack
* Support security operations, reporting, and continuous improvement
* Contribute to system hardening and secure configurations
* Promote security awareness across the organisation
What You’ll Need
* Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender, Intune, and Entra ID
* Experience with vulnerability scanning and patch management tools
* Familiarity with ITSM systems and service management processes
* Strong understanding of identity security and access control
* Ability to investigate incidents, triage effectively, and escalate where needed
* Knowledge of Windows environments, networking, and cloud/SaaS security
Nice to Have
* Experience in financial services or insurance environments
* Exposure to Microsoft Purview (DLP)
* Knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks
