Are you an experienced pharmacist with a passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of people living with mental health conditions? NHS Lanarkshire’s Mental Health and Learning Disability (MHLD) Pharmacy team have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced advanced clinical pharmacist to join our growing team of dedicated pharmacy professionals.
The successful candidate will develop and lead this brand new role, providing safe, effective and person-centred pharmaceutical care direct to patients within NHS Lanarkshire’s Rehabilitation & Recovery and Forensic Mental Health Services. We are looking for a candidate who will motivate and inspire others both within pharmacy and the wider mental health service. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of a specialised clinical pharmacy service in a forward-thinking and rapidly evolving environment.

What we'll need you to bring
1. Masters of Pharmacy Degree
2. Registered member of General Pharmaceutical Council
3. An independent prescribing qualification
4. Evidence of postgraduate training and professional development in clinical pharmacy practice
5. Significant and relevant post-registration experience in clinical pharmacy
6. Working towards RPS Core Advanced Pharmacist Credentialing or equivalent and able to demonstrate evidence of working towards at an advanced practice in the key domains.
7. Ability to act independently and manage own workload
8. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and multi-disciplinary environment
9. Excellent clinical knowledge, a commitment to quality with high standards of pharmaceutical care and a dedication to lifelong learning.
10. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to take forward service development, redesign and manage change effectively.
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
12. Experience in education and training of other professionals and trainees.
13. Commitment to revalidation as per directions of General Pharmaceutical Council
14. Please note a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have
15. Experience of working within specialist mental health services.
16. Experience in medicine-related policy and guideline development
17. Experience in supervising staff
18. Proven project, practice research and audit skills

Location and Working Pattern
The Rehabilitation & Recovery service is based at Coathill hospital, Coatbridge and the Forensic Mental Health service is based in Beckford lodge, Hamilton. The MHLD pharmacy team are predominantly based in University Hospital Wishaw and University Hospital Hairmyres. There will be a need to travel across NHS Lanarkshire and beyond at times.
The working pattern for this role is Monday- Friday 9:00-17:00
There is currently no requirement to participate in on-call or weekend working for this role, however this may be subject to change as the service develops.
