Vision for Education is currently recruiting enthusiastic, adaptable, and dedicated ALN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across a range of ALN and SEN schools in Newport and surrounding areas. As an ALN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils in specialist educational settings, helping them to engage in learning, develop confidence, and reach personal milestones in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

The Role
You will support pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs, including:
13. MLD – Moderate Learning Difficulties
14. SLD – Severe Learning Difficulties
15. ASC – Autism Spectrum Condition
16. PMLD – Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties
17. PD – Physical Disabilities
18. EBD – Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties
As an ALN Teaching Assistant, you will:
19. Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to promote learning and development
20. Assist with classroom activities and lesson delivery
21. Adapt learning resources to meet individual pupil needs
22. Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
23. Encourage pupil independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
24. Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff in specialist classroom settings
What We’re Looking For
25. Experience supporting children or young people in education, care, youth work, or support settings
26. A patient, positive, and adaptable approach
27. Ability to manage behaviour in a calm and effective manner
28. Strong communication and relationship-building skills
29. Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 are desirable but not essential
