Job Title: Residential Children's Home Support Worker
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, qualified candidate to join the team in one of our children’s residential homes. We specialize in supporting Children and Young People who have suffered early-life trauma, neglect, or abuse and may display challenging behaviors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Shift Planning: Coordinate shifts with Residential Support Workers to ensure smooth operations.
* Risk Management: Safely manage risks in line with company policies and procedures.
* Effective Communication: Ensure clear communication with the team regarding daily plans.
* Progress Documentation: Use paperless systems to document and report the progress of young people.
* Care Plan Reviews: Regularly review care plans and other associated documentation.
* Training: Participate in an in-depth quality training package to support your professional development.
* Team Meetings: Attend staff meetings and contribute proactively to service improvements.
* Advocacy: Act as an advocate for young people while using a positive parenting model.
* Positive Support Strategies: Work with young people using de-escalation techniques and other positive support strategies (e.g., PRICE training).
Job Requirements:
* Positive Parenting: Provide support using a positive parenting approach.
* Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills are essential.
* Legislative Knowledge: Sound knowledge of current legislation, such as Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 (including quality standards).
* Empathy and Professionalism: Be open-minded, empathetic, and professional in your approach.
Essential Requirements:
* Full Manual Driving Licence.
* Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* Commitment to CPD: Willingness to participate in further professional development to meet the needs of young people.
* Passion for Working with Children and Young People: A clear passion and desire to make a difference in their lives.
