Woodside Medical Practice is a Medical Practice that pridesitself on offering tailored care to a diverse patient list of 6500. We offer 15minute appointments, flexible working, Clinical and Pastoral support andmentorship, great learning opportunities, sociable and supportive environmentand the use of a private car park. Main duties of the job
Provision of General Medical Services, Enhanced Services andwork with the Primary Care Network, in accordance with the GMS and otherpractice contracts. Continuing professional development opportunities, andregular practice meetings.
About us
The practice currently has 2 GP Partners and 4 Salaried GPs.There is a lead nurse and 1 Health Care Assistant in post supported by 1nursing associate, social prescriber, pharmacist technician and afirst contact MSK Specialist.
The practice is also supported by an experienced admin team,with an admin leader in post.
Various Primary Care Network staff are currently being recruitedthat will also offer extended patient services.
We are a well established team with a real family feel and wouldwelcome prospective applicants in for an informal chat and tour of thePractice.
Job responsibilities
This document outlines the core activities andtasks you will be expected to undertake whilst you are working at the Practice.You will be required to undertake all the reasonable duties of a GP includingany surgeries, home visits, medical examinations and all other day to dayclinical duties that a Doctor in the Practice undertakes. However, you are notrequired to be involved with other issues relating to the Practiceadministration such as financial planning and business matters.
Key Responsibilities:
AREA ASSOCIATED TASK/DUTY
General medical services
Providing healthcare and medical services to allpatients
Participate in Duty GP rota, when scheduled
Travel within the practice area to attend homevisits, when required
Dealing with paperwork, correspondence and testresults associated with patient care
Providing choice the patients who are beingreferred for Secondary Care
For the purpose of patient care and the Quality& Outcomes Framework, maintain accurate records electronically withinagreed Practice procedures
Participate in and operate clinical governancemethods and systems approved by the Partnership or Shropshire, Telford &Wrekin ICS
Dealing with medication queries raised by patients;along with prescribing and onward referral to internal and external clinicians,where appropriate
Review, action and complete tasks that are receivedby other members of the clinical and/or administration team that are pertinentto the effective care of patients
Follow-up results, x-rays and correspondence thatyou have generated yourself
Working relationships
Liaising with other members of the Primary CareHealth Team and other agencies as appropriate, to ensure good relationships aremaintained at all times with patients, colleagues and other agencies, includingthe pharmacy first service
Non-NHS related work
Carry out work considered outside the NHS, such asmedical examinations, certificates and reports
Continuing professional development both scheduledin hours and at externally arranged learning events
Maintaining a high standard of care to patients byshowing a commitment to continuing professional development and byparticipation in clinical meetings and Practice development days
Meetings
You will participate in monthly Clinical Meetingsto review care provided to a range of patients

Qualifications
* Previous GP experience is desirable
* You must be a fully qualified GP on the GP Performers List
