Role Purpose
We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual with a project background to join our fast-paced team to deliver lower-risk highways and technology schemes in our portfolio or assist with more complex schemes. Projects will range from £100k to over £3m, including safety schemes, environmental improvements, technology schemes, remedial works, and structure schemes.
Key Responsibilities
* Support strong collaborative relationships with the project management team and stakeholders to ensure mutual understanding of project objectives, performance review, and issue resolution.
* Ensure compliance with the DBFO contract by clarifying roles, resolving risks, producing reports, and maintaining records.
* Assist in developing, agreeing, and implementing project plans to deliver objectives effectively.
* Support projects throughout their lifecycle, from feasibility to handover, informing investment proposals.
* Develop robust cost profiles, identify risks, and evaluate project dependencies and constraints.
* Support the performance management of contractors and designers, ensuring clarity of objectives and expectations.
* Contribute to sustainability initiatives, including net zero and biodiversity net gain.
* Work with the construction team to ensure permits, certificates, and site reporting are properly managed.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience working in teams to develop multiple projects concurrently.
* Strong collaboration skills, with experience managing stakeholder relationships.
* Commercial acumen to drive project performance and manage contracts.
* High resilience to handle conflicting priorities and setbacks.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Experience managing project plans with contractors and internal teams.
Working Arrangements
* Willingness to travel to other offices and depots as required.
* Periodic site visits, including night shifts.
* Full driving license is desirable but not mandatory.
