Building Services Senior Electrical EstimatorLocation: Cirencester, GloucestershireJob Type: Full-time, permanent - office based with the potential for hybrid workingSalary: Negotiable - dependent on experienceBenefits: Performance bonus scheme25 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays About the roleAn established Mechanical and Electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Services Estimator to join its Pre-Construction team based in Cirencester.The role would suit a commercially aware estimator with strong technical knowledge of building services and experience delivering estimates across a range of commercial projects. You will work closely with senior management and contribute to the successful delivery of competitive and well-considered tenders.Reporting directly to the Construction Director, key responsibilities will include:Key responsibilities Reviewing tender documentation including specifications and employer's requirementsPreparing accurate and timely cost estimates covering labour, materials and subcontract packagesProducing tenders for internal adjudicationAssessing and vetting supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure best value is achievedAttending and leading tender adjudication meetings, presenting programme, pricing strategy and commercial riskMonitoring and reviewing project costs against tender allowancesMaintaining and updating in-house costing and estimating softwareLiaising with main contractors, clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal design and delivery teams Skills and behaviours Commercially astute, with the ability to identify, manage and mitigate riskStrong attention to detail and able to work to tight deadlinesProactive approach, with the ability to advise on alternative systems and cost-saving solutionsCapable of taking ownership of projects while working closely with senior leadershipComfortable working independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary teamClear communicator with a positive and professional attitude Experience and qualifications Proven experience in a similar estimating role within an M&E contractor or main contractor environmentStrong understanding of building services pricing, design and deliveryAbility to prepare estimates from drawings and specifications as a minimumExperience within commercial, office or warehousing projects would be advantageousConfident in estimating costs and programmes to meet tender deadlinesStrong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and ExcelExcellent numerical, analytical and written skillsGeneral understanding of other MEP disciplines, BREEAM and sustainability principles
