Pay rate £19.66 p/h
Temporary contract 3 months initial with the scope to continue to 6 months
Thrive Group Wakefield is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor/ Senior Vehicle Technician to oversee the maintenance and repair of Fleet & Machines. This is a key leadership role, ensuring vehicles and equipment are maintained to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and compliance.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and support a team of technicians and apprentices, ensuring all work meets required standards.
* Oversee servicing, inspections, and repairs across a diverse fleet, including preparation for MOT/HGV tests.
* Plan and coordinate maintenance schedules, manage budgets, and control operational costs.
* Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, safety regulations, and quality procedures.
* Promote a safe and positive workplace culture focused on teamwork and continuous improvement.
About You
* Qualified to Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Maintenance (essential).
* Level 4 qualification (or willingness to achieve within 12 months).
* Hold a Category C driving licence.
* Proven experience in fleet maintenance management and team leadership.
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise and deliver results.
* Committed to safety, quality, and service excellence.
Desirable
* Level 4 Management Qualification or IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.
* Experience working within a Local Authority or large fleet environment.
