The Role
As an Associate Acoustic Signature Analyst, you will help ensure the stealth, performance and safety of Royal Navy platforms through world-leading underwater acoustic measurement and analysis.
Day-to-day, you’ll support underwater radiated noise trials, analyse acoustic signatures, contribute to technical reporting, and support the development of innovative measurement systems so you can understand the role in more detail.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing acoustic signature analysis and guidance to customers on underwater acoustic issues
* Supporting acoustic signature and investment projects with technical leadership
* Developing improved approaches to acoustic analysis and reporting
* Ensuring delivery to specified quality, cost and time
* Interfacing with QinetiQ teams, RN, MoD and industry partners
* Complying with HSE and Security requirements
Essential experience of the Associate Acoustic Signature Analyst:
* Background in an engineering, science or technical discipline
* Logical and methodical approach to data analysis
* Fundamental understanding of underwater sound propagation
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Experience with modern programming languages or analysis packages
* Self-motivation and ability to perform in pressurised environments
Essential qualifications for the Associate Acoustic Signature Analyst:
* Degree in engineering, science, mathematics or a related technical field

This role is 37 hours per week based at Winfrith. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
