Chartered Quantity Surveyor required to provide ongoing support in a Glasgow-based consultancy.
Our client
Our client is a well-established chartered quantity surveying firm offering services across Quantity Surveying, Project Management, and Employers Agent services to clients in both the public and private sectors. They offer a 9-day fortnight, a competitive salary of £52,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience), and the opportunity to work on diverse projects.
They are an independent consultancy working with owners, occupiers, developers, and funders across the UK. Due to growth and a strong pipeline of projects, they seek a Chartered Quantity Surveyor to join their Glasgow office. The firm has a strong track record of developing surveyors into senior roles, making it a great place for career growth. Most projects are in the public sector, ensuring a steady flow of work.
Your new role
You will be involved at all project stages, from initial estimates and budgets to pre- and post-contract work. You will support the surveying team, working with experienced and graduate colleagues, gaining hands-on experience in:
* Bills of Quantities
* Cost planning
* Value engineering
* Procurement
* Tendering
* Post-contract cost control
* Administration of various construction contracts
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with drive and ambition. They should be proactive, experienced in preparing bills of quantities, and possess:
* Effective communication skills (oral and written)
* Methodical approach to work
* Good organization, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
* Financial and numeracy management skills
* Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
