Product Engineer
Linx Printing Technologies (a Veralto company) is a leading global provider of coding and marking solutions for date and batch coding of products and packaging across manufacturing industries. As part of the Linx team and the broader Veralto network, you will work with products that make an everyday impact on the food, medicine and essentials we all rely on. The position is located in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.
Reporting to the Maintenance of Line (MOL) Manager, the Product Engineer is primarily responsible for running the ECN process, which is key within the company and is required for any change across the product lines the company manufactures. Other key responsibilities include:
* Working with the Mechanical Engineering Team to coordinate the transfer of engineering BOMs and data into the company’s ERP system.
* Attending DFMEA and Design Review meetings to ensure new products are well prepared for transfer through the company’s toll‑gate process for successful manufacture.
* Using Creo design software to review designs of new products and to ensure changes to existing products are processed from robust design intent.
Typical Day
* Act as process manager/developer and manage the company’s ECN process.
* Drive interdepartmental communication around ECNs and report out on ECN KPIs.
* Input new assemblies and parts into the ERP system.
* Process production permits and process change notes.
* Work alongside engineering and quality teams to fault‑find, set up design of experiments and testing, improving Linx products and system reliability.
Essential Requirements
* Process‑driven and proactive individual with an engineering background and at least 3 years’ experience in working with engineering design changes.
* Experience responsible for or administering an engineering change system.
* Experience with NPI or the transfer of new products to manufacture.
* Experience entering and maintaining engineering data on an ERP system such as Oracle or an equivalent MRP/ERP system.
* Advanced user of MS Excel and macros.
* Experience working with electro‑mechanical systems and/or 3D CAD packages such as Creo or SolidWorks (desirable).
* A strong desire to thrive in a fast‑paced and multifaceted environment with exposure to a wide variety of projects and the chance to broaden skills and knowledge.
