Southern Housingis hiring aGovernance Officerto join ourGovernance & RegulationTeam. This role is suitable for a highly organised and detail-oriented professional with experience of supporting the effective operation of Boards and Committees and ensure our legal and regulatory obligations are met.
This is a key role within our Governance Team, reporting to the Head of Governance & Regulation and contributing directly to strong, transparent and compliant governance across the organisation.
What youll be doing
1. Coordinate and service Board and Committee meetings, including agendas, papers, minutes and follow-up actions
2. Maintain governance systems, records and statutory registers(probity, shareholders, gifts and hospitality, fraud, whistleblowing)
3. Support AGMs, including preparing notices, distributing packs and minute taking.
4. Assist with Board and Committee recruitment, inductions and training
5. Support annual Board and Committee appraisals and effectiveness reviews
