Role and Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities
1. As ambassador for the A Series & Xcover product group, the product manager is the key driver within Samsung UK, with responsibility for the creation and implementation of the quarterly Product Strategy and Business Plan across UK and Ireland.
2. Deeply understand, interpret and champion Samsung Mobile products, the market, its consumers, channels and competitors within Samsung UK & IE MX (Mobile Experience), Europe Office/Suwon & reflect within the plan.
3. The PM is responsible for pricing, positioning and channel distribution through the life of the product from launch to EOL, monitoring both the market trends and internal forecasting.
4. The PM will have excellent communication skills balanced with a sound eye for business. Capable of creating outstanding business plans that clearly communicate the key message of the product group both internally and externally.
Key Tasks:
5. Own the Product group to create, co-ordinate and deliver our targets through the Product Plan into our direct and indirect channel partners
6. Collaborate with the category team, wider Product Management team and the overall business to achieve key SEUK MX critical metrics of revenue, volume, share, profit and investment ratio targets.
7. Produce launch materials and support product launch, ranging and sell through.
8. Deeply understand, interpret and champion Samsung products, the market, its consumers, channels and competitors, and represent SEUK plans and performance to ETO & Suwon.
9. Align, negotiate business opportunities, gain consensus and approval across the category head, Product heads, the SEUK Leadership Team and Business Strategy Directors on the components of the product plans
10. Work with wider MX pier group (sales, marketing & retail) to ensure alignment, consensus of the plans with clear feedback loop and issue management. Working with peer groups to identify areas of improvement risks and solutions to ensure the plan is delivered.
11. Actively track and report the status of the sell-out of the plan, identifying and analysing areas of performance below the plan. Go deep to understand what is behind the performance and make fast recommendations on how to correct or mitigate. Work with your peer group and key stakeholders including the Pricing team and the wider business, to rapidly raise areas of concern and build effective solutions to return the performance to plan.
12. Own the sell-out (AP2) forecasting at SKU level (customer, colour, SKU variant) and align with demand planning & sales operations on the equivalent sell-in that this forecast generates, to ensure SEUK achieves its sell-in revenue target. Report on any changes on current performance, and the subsequent implications on key critical metrics.
13. Understand segmentation and customer audiences to align the product strategy.
14. Fundamental responsibility for the SEUK MX Smartphone (A Series/XCover) Product Plan, its implementation and success.
