Offer description

Part time Secondment opportunity 32 hours per week until 31 March 2026 This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join the NHS Fife Practice and Professional Development (PPD) Team. This role will work closely with the Lead PEF, Head of Department and HEIs in a practical role in providing support, education and development for clinical staff and students. The post-holder is expected to support staff and students to provide high standards of care by acting as a role model. The successful candidate should be a Registered Nurse / Midwife educated to degree level (or equivalent). In addition, it would be beneficial if you also have or are working towards a post-graduate qualification in teaching or education; however this is not an essential requirement. You will be able to evidence well-developed interpersonal skills and excellent levels of communication. Good time management and organisational skills coupled with an ability to work within a team setting as well as independently, will be essential requirements of this post. Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is a condition of this post and the successful applicant(s) will be required to join the scheme prior to appointment. As this is a secondment, please ensure that you have your current line manager’s approval prior to application. Interviews are anticipated to be held w/c 25th August 2025. Fixed Term/Secondment Opportunity – Existing permanent employees must first discuss this opportunity with their substantive line manager. The secondment policy can be found here Hub • Blink (joinblink.com) If you do not have approval for a secondment from your current line manager, you will not be able to progress your application for a fixed term post. External applicants, with continuous NHS Service, must also have in place a secondment agreement, from their existing board to apply for this post. For informal enquiries please contact: Gillian Hutchison, Lead Practice Education Facilitator: Gillian.hutchison@nhs.scot or Mairi McKinley, Head of Practice and Professional Development: mairi.mckinley@nhs.scot A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment. To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service. As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status. To find out more about these routes of permission, please refer to the GOV.UK website here. For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licenced Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or ‘going rate’. Further information on these criteria can be found here. It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form. We offer flexible working and family-friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices. NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
