Our client, a leading tier one construction and civil engineering contractor, is recruiting an experienced Project Manager to play a key role in delivering Old Oak Common Station, one of the UK's most significant new transport hubs. This is a rare opportunity to join a landmark rail project involving the construction of the high speed station, the Station Envelope, and a major overbridge spanning the conventional rail station, working within a high performing delivery team on a highly visible and nationally critical scheme.
The Project
Old Oak Common is a landmark rail interchange and one of the most complex station builds currently underway in the UK. The scheme involves the high speed station, the Station Envelope, and a major overbridge across the conventional rail station, with delivery shaped by complex interfaces, intricate technical packages, and multidisciplinary contractors working in parallel.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of station related civils and structural works, including the Station Envelope and overbridge construction. You will manage and coordinate subcontractors, design teams and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery across multiple interfaces, and oversee programme, cost, quality and risk management across your assigned packages. You will ensure compliance with industry standards, design assurance requirements and safety regulations, drive progress through proactive problem solving and collaborative planning with engineering and construction teams, and provide technical and managerial leadership through the design, procurement and construction stages. You will also manage facade related packages, including complex glazing systems, ensuring full integration with the structural and architectural elements.
Essential Requirements
* Demonstrable Project Manager experience on major rail, station, or large scale civil engineering projects
* Strong technical understanding of station structures, envelope works, or bridge construction
* Experience managing facade packages, ideally with exposure to glazing, curtain walling, or specialist envelope systems
* Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder environments
* Strong commercial and contract management experience, NEC preferred
* Proven history of delivering projects safely, on time, and to specification
