About the Role: The role of Investment Manager is to originate, assess, and manage litigation assets. Responsible for conducting comprehensive case assessments, the Investment Manager collaborates with legal experts to gauge the merits and risks of each case, conducting, with our Pricing and Structuring team, financial analyses to determine economic viability and potential returns on investment. The Investment Manager is also responsible for negotiating and structuring funding agreements and ensuring compliance with investment budgets. This role demands continuous monitoring of legal landscapes, collaborative efforts with legal teams, and effective communication of investment decisions to internal and external stakeholders, all aimed at optimizing the profitability and risk profile of the funder’s investments. In this role, the Investment Manager will continue to develop an understanding of legal processes, financial analysis, and risk management within the context of litigation funding and the ability to collaborate closely with legal teams, financial analysts and other internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: We are looking for candidates who have: PQE 4 - 10 years’ experience as a legal practitioner and/or in litigation finance; The ability to be self-motivated, outcome focused, influential, robust, commercial, passionate, and able to work effectively as part of a team; A deep understanding of legal principles, litigation processes, and risk factors associated with litigation and/or litigation funding; A strategic and commercial mindset, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative investment strategies; Earned respect in their field (legal and/or litigation funding); An ability to negotiate, including in respect of funding terms and variations; An ability to identify and evaluate risk; Computer literacy with the ability to function in an organisation that relies predominantly on electronic systems; Bachelor of Laws or higher legal qualification; and Financial training (preferred.)
