Radiology Information Systems Administrator

This is a very interesting role with the opportunity to gain in depth experience in the administration and configuration of multiple clinical IT systems including the radiology information system (RIS), PACS and other Trust IT systems used within radiology.
The post holder will be a key part of the radiology team providing a service to radiology, the wider Trust and external partners.
Main duties of the job
The post holder must be able to work equally well independently and as a member of a multi‑disciplinary team and have good customer service skills, reliability, good systems problem solving skills, ability to prioritise according to urgency and the ability to work calmly under pressure are key qualities.
There is a wide breadth of duties within the role which includes sending images electronically external to the Trust, administering images coming into the Trust, creating CDs for external dental imaging, quality control of radiology systems and configuration of the radiology information system.
This post will involve out of hours working for the installation and testing of system upgrades.
Job responsibilities
Act as a system specialist for Radiology information systems inclusive of and not limited to PACS, RIS and IEP, providing administrative support for and provision of second line support, including giving advice to staff within and external to Radiology.
Assist with the delivery of business change initiatives and service improvement projects through the implementation of new IM&T systems and associated information system set up and administration.

Skills and Knowledge
* Proven understanding of information governance issues and how to manage confidential patient information.
* Proven appropriate knowledge of Data Protection Act.
* Able to work well under pressure and adhere to strict timescales.
* Ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers of all levels.
* Ability to interact and work productively with external suppliers.
* Ability to communicate effectively in various formats.
* Ability to prioritise own work with a sometimes unpredictable and conflicting workload.
Physical Skills
* Able to work at a workstation on a daily basis for long periods of time.
* Able to participate in out of hours testing is essential during periods of upgrade to Radiology and associated systems.
Qualifications
* GCSE A‑C or equivalent qualification in Maths and English, NVQ2 in administration, or
* Significant experience of working in a health information systems support role
* Previous experience of working in a Radiology setting
Experience
* Demonstrable recent relevant experience of working in systems administration.
* Demonstrable experience of delivering effective customer service, handling telephone queries appropriately
* Proven experience of handling confidential information appropriately
* Previous experience of working effectively in a team based environment
* Previous experience in an NHS environment
