About the Role
Destination Education is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive Primary School in Leyton. This role involves providing SEN support across the school, with a particular focus on assisting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), speech and language needs, and social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement individual learning plans (EHCPs) and ensure every child receives the tailored support they need to succeed both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, including ASD and communication difficulties.
Assist in delivering and adapting lesson materials to meet individual learning needs.
Encourage positive behaviour and promote social, emotional, and personal development.
Support classroom activities, sensory play, and communication-based interventions.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent and holistic support.
The Ideal Candidate Previous experience supporting children with SEN, ideally within a primary school setting.
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with young learners.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A genuine passion for inclusive education and helping pupils achieve their best.
Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, experience with EHCPs, or SEN training) are desirable but not essential.
