The Head of A&V is a critical UK leadership role reporting to the UK Country President and will lead an outstanding team to realize the full value of Pfizer’s medicines and optimize outcomes for UK patients. This role will provide strategic leadership to define the value of Pfizer’s branded and pipeline portfolio by driving industry-leading access strategy and execution and the development of pro-innovation, pro-patient policies to deliver better patient outcomes. This role will bring our culture and purpose to life through leadership of specialist teams focusing on Outcomes & Evidence (O&E), Health Technology Assessment (HTA), and Asset & Access (A&A) strategy, working in collaboration with UK and Global cross functional colleagues. You will provide strategic support and direction to the UK Country President and broader UK Management Forum (UKMF) whilst also representing Pfizer externally with HTA bodies, Academia, data and digital platforms and NHS groups to support the UK organization to deliver against our purpose. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Business Leadership: Collaborate with the business units to develop compelling market access strategies to optimise the value proposition of our innovative portfolio for UK HTA bodies. Demonstrate innovation, insight and data usage to develop and execute compelling access strategies for Pfizer’s assets. Lead and collaborate with the UK and global business to deliver innovative, thought-leading and ambitious plans and solutions to create sustainable healthcare models fit for the future. Collaborate with UK Commercial and Medical leaders to ensure that UK insights and needs are reflected in the Global development and access strategies for pipeline medicines/vaccines. Drive improved sub-national access and uptake by ensuring that A&V work cross-functionally to develop a post-launch access strategy, including relevant national/regional engagements and tools, to facilitate faster, optimal formulary positioning. Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior influential UK stakeholders to inform Pfizer access strategy, to shape national value assessment policies, and to further Pfizer’s reputation as a credible and respected voice in the life science sector. Serve as a member of the UK Management Forum (UKMF) and represent the UK A&V function in UK and Global forums to shape our delivery of UK business priorities. Lead the UK A&V organization to build skills, knowledge and expertise critical to transforming the assessment of medicines and vaccines. Represent Pfizer externally in order to improve Pfizer’s operating environment through shaping pro-patient, pro-innovation access policies and processes in the UK. Innovation & Future Change: Build an innovative mindset across the A&V organisation to maximize value and patient outcomes and experience with our medicines and vaccines. Collaborate with global to test new approaches to evidence generation, health economics, pricing and access solutions, digital technologies and data science innovation in order to drive new market access solutions and enhance the value of our medicines and vaccines to UK payers and patients. Contribute to the life science sector as an industry expert called upon by key stakeholders in HTA bodies, government and the NHS to shape/influence market access, HTA, pricing and data strategy policies. Represent Pfizer externally across industry working groups and other relevant organisations of influence on HTA and other access-related policies. Foster partnerships across NICE, academia and NHS to showcase Pfizer’s positive contribution to the UK economy, to the evolving NHS and to patients. QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated track record of leadership to build and deliver value and access of innovative medicines/vaccines. Ability to build and lead high-performing cross-functional teams, providing an inclusive environment and supporting a clear sense of direction and focus. Demonstrated experience of UK HTA environment, development and usage of real-world evidence (RWE), developing partnerships and collaborations with NHS bodies and leading transformational change. Broad knowledge & experience of UK healthcare environment and the drivers of this. Experience of interactions with external stakeholders and building/utilizing relationships. A mindset of innovation and challenging the status quo to develop new solutions to complex challenges. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Member of UK Management Forum (UKMF). Represents UK at Global level within Global Access & Value (GAV) function. RESOURCES MANAGED This role leads an organization of ~30 colleagues, focused on bringing breakthroughs to patients across the UK. The role also represents Pfizer externally with key stakeholders, influencers, service providers and customers.
