Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Office Administrator to join our administration team at Crewe and Nantwich Timber. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills and a proactive approach to managing office operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth functioning of our office environment, providing support to staff, making sure workers are sent out to jobs quickly and efficiently.
A family-run and friendly business which makes and supplies tailored garden fences, gates and furniture to a variety of customers. A range of products, from sheds, summerhouses and decking to driveway gates and fencing is manufactured and installed to transform the gardens and outdoor areas of their customers.
The business was started by Owner/Managing Director, Edward Taylor, seven years ago and he now runs an eight-strong team with support from his father, Chris.
The business buys in timber from sustainably and locally sourced companies in the UK and deals with clients all over Staffordshire and Cheshire
Duties
* Manage daily office operations, including scheduling meetings and maintaining calendars
* Handle incoming phone calls with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring excellent phone etiquette
* Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently, maintaining up-to-date records
* Utilise Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace for document creation, spreadsheets, and presentations
* Organise files and documents in both physical and digital formats for easy retrieval
* Provide clerical support as needed, including typing correspondence and preparing reports
* Collaborate with team members to ensure effective communication and workflow within the office
* Doing stock checks and ordering the right stock from specific local companies
* Ensuring invoices for purchases are printed and filed ready for quarterly VAT returns
* Ability to work on Saturdays
* Sending off hours to the accountants for payslips
Experience
* Previous office experience is desirable, with a focus on administrative roles
* Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
* Excellent typing skills with attention to detail
