We are currently recruiting for an Apprenticeship Finance Administrator on a 3-month temporary contract, starting on 18/05/2026. This is a remote role, with attendance required on the London campus only once per month. Rate of pay is £26.04 per hour plus holiday pay, working 35 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Reconcile monthly ILR payments and distribute to Schools following the university processes
* Raise Co investment fee invoices to employers and process the transfer of additional DWP employer payment to employers with respect to apprenticeships as instructed by the Finance Team.
* Co‑ordinate claims/invoices monitoring information and reports as required by the DWP and other external funding bodies and clients.
* Monitor income projections and report income and variance to the Apprenticeships Manager on a regular basis.
* Work with finance staff to manage all programme/contract funds according to accounting policies and procedures and the University’s financial regulations and ensure that all financial records for programmes are accurate and up to date
Experience
* Strong experience of reconciling apprenticeship funding payments and reporting to Senior Leaders
* Experience of submitting external data returns or working with large data sets, maintaining and validating data within the Higher Education Sector
* Experience of working with a large student records system in a higher education environment
* Extensive knowledge of the ILR return or experience of submitting external data returns
* Experience of working in the area of apprenticeships.
* Experience of working with apprenticeship systems such as the Apprenticeship Service.
Skills & Abilities
* Strong financial background in apprenticeships is essential. Please only apply if you have the relevant experience.
* Ability to use and maintain systems and spreadsheets to track and monitor data and evidence, compliance and work with colleagues and clients to quickly address gaps
* Excellent IT skills including experience of Microsoft Office.
* Ability to work on own initiative, manage time effectively and problem solve, but to exercise sound judgement and escalate appropriate issues that present a risk or opportunity
* Ability to adapt quickly and flexibly to change and learn new processes quickly and thoroughly.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels (including senior management) across professional services and Schools.
* Demonstrable problem‑solving skills including the ability to act with autonomy
* Accuracy and attention to detail, including the ability to maintain high standards when under pressure
* Good organisational skills and the ability to co‑ordinate, plan and prioritise work independently so that competing demands are managed and deadlines met.
Interviews will be held via Teams on Wednesday 13 th May and Friday 15 th May, times to be confirmed.
