Overview
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced M365 & Entra Technical Architect to provide enterprise‐wide architectural leadership across our Microsoft 365 and Entra ID platforms. This is a key role shaping the future of our digital workplace and identity services, ensuring they are secure, scalable, compliant, and aligned to business strategy
Responsibilities
* Defining and maintaining the enterprise architecture for Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
* Leading the design of secure identity, access, collaboration, and endpoint solutions
* Providing architectural governance, technical assurance, and design authority for M365/Entra initiatives
* Developing standards, reference architectures, patterns, and roadmaps
* Advising on and embedding Zero Trust principles across identity, endpoints, and data
* Acting as the subject matter expert for identity lifecycle management, authentication, and conditional access
* Leading complex migrations, integrations, and transformation programmes involving M365 and Entra ID
* Providing technical leadership on security, compliance, and data protection within the Microsoft ecosystem
* Mentoring engineers and supporting capability uplift across identity and collaboration technologies
Skills & Experience
* Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Purview
* Expert knowledge of Entra ID (Azure AD), including Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, identity lifecycle, and hybrid identity
* Strong understanding of Zero Trust and modern security models
* Experience with Intune, endpoint management, Autopilot, and device compliance
* Knowledge of modern authentication and integration protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM)
* Strong architectural design and problem‐solving capability
* Excellent documentation skills (HLDs, LLDs, diagrams, standards)
* Ability to influence senior stakeholders and explain complex concepts clearly
