Overview
The Technical Assistant plays a key role within the Audio/Post team. You will ensure that technical and administrative tasks are completed promptly to support the technical delivery of projects. You will support the post service to ensure timely completion of deliverables and milestones.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
1. Provide audio support on both audio and video projects, acting as a junior audio engineer when needed.
2. Perform high-quality audio editing of dialogue WAV files.
3. Ensure quality assurance and delivery of edited dialogue WAV files using in-house tools.
4. Organise, log, and distribute batches to editors and collect them once edited.
5. Prepare scripts and conduct QA on edited batches where appropriate.
6. QA and prepare edited batches for delivery to clients, and deliver when suitable.
7. Assist the Post-Production Team with daily tasks as needed.
8. Collaborate effectively with the audio team.
9. Report issues impacting progress or quality.
10. Troubleshoot technical issues or report them to line managers.
11. Maintain up-to-date audio assets and equipment logs.
Requirements
1. Proficiency in WAV file editors (preferably Audition, Pro Tools, Izotope RX), Pro Tools, and MS Excel.
2. Strong troubleshooting skills for technical and IT issues.
3. Ability to learn new skills and software quickly.
4. Excellent time management and organisational skills.
5. Self-driven, resourceful, and a team player capable of working with all levels.
