Following the release of ARRS GP information and funding, we are looking for a newly qualified (within 2 years and not having had a substantive post), enthusiastic, forward-thinking GP to join Byfield Medical Centre, part of Northamptonshire Rural PCN. We are happy to discuss the number of sessions you are looking to work.
Contract will be based on the BMA contract with 6 weeks' annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata) and one week of study leave (pro rata).

Main duties of the job
The GP will undertake a variety of duties governed by the GMS contract and objectives of Enhanced Services, including:
* Share of routine and urgent appointments both face-to-face and telephone
* Prescribe as per local and national guidelines
* Share of home visits, routine and emergency
* Manage administration tasks: letters, results, referrals, telephone calls, emails
* Take responsibility for appropriate referrals following local guidance and good medical practice
* Check and sign share of repeat prescriptions
* Cover for colleagues in exceptional circumstances, considering external commitments such as childcare
* Work with other health and social care providers to ensure a safe and integrated service
* Maintain accurate records of consultations using EMIS
* Provide clinical support to team members to achieve high standards of care and targets

Job responsibilities
* Record clear and contemporaneous IT-based consultation notes using EMIS Web
* Provide safe, evidence-based, cost-effective, individualised patient care within the surgery and patients' homes
* Clinically examine and assess patient needs, referring to other services as needed
* Perform and interpret investigatory procedures, including laboratory and radiology tests
* Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately in urgent or emergency situations
* Ensure appropriate follow-up of patients
* Support health promotion and self-care strategies
* Support delivery of anticipatory care plans

* Independently prescribe within your scope, following guidelines

Qualifications
* Newly qualified GP (no more than 2 years qualified) with GMC registration and license to practice
Experience and Skills
* Excellent communication skills and accurate record-keeping
* Strong IT skills, including EMIS Web, Microsoft Office, and Outlook
* Effective time management and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team
* Empathy, honesty, and professionalism
* Experience in urgent care or primary care, home visits, and clinical assessment
* Understanding of clinical governance, risk management, and evidence-based practice
Other Requirements
* Full UK driving license and access to own vehicle
