We are currently recruiting for a Cleaner to work within a high profile government building in the Newport South Wales area. You will directly report to the evening supervisor. This is a great opportunity to join the company that looks after its people and values strong communication highly.
Main Duties
The main duties of this role include carrying out all cleaning tasks in accordance with the work schedule, such as hoovering and wiping desks and tables. You will be responsible for cleaning, stocking, and supplying designated facility areas, which involves dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, and restroom maintenance. Promptly cleaning spills, broken glass, and other messes is essential. You must take ownership of health and safety for yourself and others, ensuring all work complies with current legal health and safety requirements and that appropriate warning signs are always in use. Adherence to site rules and regulations is mandatory. Additionally, you will maintain equipment and materials in a clean and safe working order, report any machine or building faults to your line manager, and respond courteously to requests from customers, supervisors, and management. Other responsibilities include undertaking any duties assigned by your supervisor or line manager and using a time and attendance system to record working hours.
What we are looking for
We are looking for candidates who preferably have cleaning experience; however, training can be provided. Applicants should be reliable and hardworking with a professional attitude and be able to work to a schedule using their own initiative. The ability to work as part of a team is essential, along with knowledge of health and safety standards and the ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely. A positive “can-do” attitude is required, as well as maintaining a high level of accuracy. Candidates should demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to identify and complete needed tasks without direct supervision.
