Band 3 Endoscopy Administrator/Coordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and organised individual to join the busy Waiting List Booking Team supporting the North Solihull Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC), based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week), with working hours to be agreed.
As an Endoscopy Booking Co-ordinator, you will play a key role managing elective waiting lists and coordinate patient pathways, including booking pre-operative assessments and TCI appointments. You will ensure patients are fit, prepared, and scheduled appropriately for diagnostic and treatment procedures.
The role also involves supporting admitting and discharging processes, maintaining accurate patient records, and contributing to the smooth running of the blood pathway. A key focus will be maximising utilisation of endoscopy, ensuring compliance with RTT Access Policy, and supporting delivery of cancer targets and long-wait patient management.
You will handle patient queries via telephone and work closely with clinical teams and stakeholders to deliver an efficient, patient-centred service.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure are essential in this fast-paced and continually evolving environment.
Main duties of the job
* Maintain and update elective waiting lists for endoscopy services in line with Trust policies and procedures.
* Book patient appointments, including pre-operative assessments and TCI, ensuring patients are appropriately prepared for procedures.
* Support patient pathways from referral to treatment, escalating any delays or issues to senior staff.
* Maximise utilisation of endoscopy capacity by effective scheduling and rebooking of cancelled appointments.
* Support admitting and discharging processes, ensuring accurate and timely data entry on Trust systems.
* Input, update and retrieve patient information using Trust IT systems in line with information governance standards.
* Create and maintain basic documents, spreadsheets, reports and diaries as required.
* Extract and provide routine data to support service delivery and performance monitoring.
* Support the blood pathway by coordinating required tests and tracking patient progress.
* Receive and deal with telephone and face-to-face enquiries, taking accurate messages and responding appropriately.

Qualifications
* Good General Education (eg. GCSE English and Maths A-C) GCSE Level 9-4
* Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in an administrative environ

* Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word, Excel and Outlook)
