Job Title: SEMH Tutor
Location: Newbury, Swindon, and Reading areas (in-person tutoring)
Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
Contract: Flexible hours available, part-time or full-time
About the Role
We are looking for compassionate and skilled SEMH Tutors to support students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs, including anxiety, low confidence, and social communication challenges. As a tutor, you will work closely with individual students to assess their learning levels, develop tailored schemes of work, and deliver engaging, personalised tuition that helps them progress academically and emotionally.
Building trusting relationships and acting as a positive role model are essential parts of this role. You will play a key role in fostering confidence, resilience, and social skills, helping students navigate their educational journey with greater independence and self-belief.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct assessments to identify each student\'s learning level and needs.
* Plan and deliver bespoke tuition sessions tailored to individual learning styles and SEMH challenges.
* Develop strong, supportive relationships with students to encourage engagement and trust.
* Serve as a positive role model, promoting emotional wellbeing and social skills.
* Monitor and report on student progress regularly.
Person Specification
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a minimum of 3 years tutoring experience.
* Experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of anxiety, low confidence, and social communication difficulties in educational settings.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport quickly with students.
* Patient, empathetic, and adaptable to meet individual student needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
