Overview
Vice President - Compliance Engineering - Full Stack Software Engineer. The Compliance Engineering team is a global group of more than 400 engineers and scientists focused on building mission-critical software solutions to prevent, detect, and mitigate regulatory and reputational risk. The firm is investing to uplift and rebuild the Compliance application portfolio in 2025 and beyond, including establishing a new Compliance Engineering team in Birmingham. The role offers collaboration with senior leadership in EMEA and the UK to drive the area’s vision.
Responsibilities
* Develop mission-critical, high-quality software solutions using cutting-edge technology in a dynamic environment.
* Build and operate a suite of platforms and applications that prevent, detect, and mitigate regulatory and reputational risk across the firm.
* Access and leverage large volumes of data (structured and unstructured) to support analytics and decision making (e.g., processing ~1 billion trade records and ~5 billion market data records on an average day).
* Leverage modern frameworks to build responsive front-end and Big Data applications.
* Partner globally with sponsors, users and engineering colleagues across multiple divisions to create end-to-end solutions.
* Learn from experts and mentor and coach junior members.
* Utilize full-stack technologies including Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, APIs, MongoDB, Elastic Search, DMN, BPMN and Kubernetes.
* Utilize data-streaming technologies including Kafka CDC, Kafka topics and related technologies, EMS, Apache Flink.
* Be able to innovate and incubate new ideas and work on a broad range of problems, often involving large data sets, real-time processing, messaging, workflow, and UI/UX.
* Drive the full development life cycle: define, design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain software across our products.
Qualifications
* A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in Java development.
* 3+ years of experience in automated testing and SDLC concepts.
* Ability to drive to goals and milestones with strong attention to detail.
* Strong communication and documentation skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with multiple people and global teams.
* Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong team player with experience working with global teams.
* Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills.
