Interim Management Accountant - Housing Association (Essex) Location: Essex (Hybrid) Contract: 6 months Day Rate: Competitive Hours: 35 per week Start: Immediate / ASAP Are you a qualified accountant with strong housing finance experience and the ability to explain complex financial information to non-finance colleagues? We are seeking an experienced Interim Management Accountant to provide cover and support for a housing association in Essex for a 6-month period. Role Overview: As Interim Management Accountant, you will: Deliver day-to-day financial performance management, reporting, and forecasting, ensuring management accounts, cash flow, and variance analysis are accurate, timely, and actionable. Act as a finance business partner to budget holders and senior management, helping them understand financial performance, address underperformance, and improve forecasting. Maintain and oversee key financial records, including fixed assets, depreciation, and capital expenditure reporting. Support the preparation and monitoring of budgets and financial plans, ensuring quality, transparency, and robust challenge of financial information. Ensure strong data integrity across all finance processes, maintaining a single source of truth for reporting. Collaborate with colleagues to improve processes, deliver high-quality financial information, and drive efficiency. What we are looking for: Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with experience in housing association finance. Strong IT skills and experience with finance systems. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues. Ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver within deadlines in a changing environment. Proactive, collaborative, and focused on delivering high-quality financial support.
