Pensions Team Leader
City of Wolverhampton Council. Full‑Time (Hybrid). 2‑Year Fixed Term Contract. Salary: £44,075 - £49,282.
About The Role
You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day leadership of a pensions administration team, ensuring workloads are effectively managed, performance targets are met and LGPS regulations are applied consistently. You’ll play a key role in service delivery, staff development and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, motivate and support a pensions administration team
* Manage workflows, priorities and resource planning to meet KPIs, statutory deadlines and internal team targets
* Oversee the delivery of accurate LGPS pension calculations and administration
* Support recruitment, training, performance management and development of team members
* Monitor and report on performance, compliance and service standards
* Contribute to service improvement, change initiatives and business planning

* Proven experience leading or supervising teams
* Experience driving performance and accountability through structured performance frameworks
* Confident managing high‑volume, deadline‑driven workloads
* Strong decision‑making, organisational and communication skills
* Ability to lead change and drive service improvements
