Job Title: PMLD Teaching Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, patient and dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team in Sheffield. This role involves working closely with children and young people who have Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), supporting them to access learning, communication, and daily activities in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with PMLD
Assist with personal care, feeding, and mobility needs where required
Support pupils’ communication using sensory approaches, PECS, Makaton, or assistive technology
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
Help create a calm, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
Monitor and record pupils’ progress and wellbeing
About You
Experience working with children or young people with PMLD or complex needs is highly desirable
A caring, empathetic, and resilient approach
Comfortable supporting personal care needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE, Teaching Assistant, Health & Social Care) are an advantage but not essential
