Based in St Leonards on Sea, the company produces solution-based chilled, ambient, and frozen products in various pack formats for the food service sector.
Position Overview
AAK BD Foods is looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to support the Senior Engineer in ensuring effective maintenance of the factory's fabrication, plant, and equipment, with the goal of ensuring its efficient and safe operation and compliance with relevant legal requirements.
Responsibilities
1. Carry out general maintenance of plant, equipment, and building fabrication as required.
2. Perform planned maintenance as directed by the Engineering Manager.
3. Efficiently address reactive maintenance of machinery and equipment to minimize production disruption.
4. Liaise with the Engineering Manager and Health and Safety Coordinator regarding equipment safety and chemical use within the workplace.
5. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
6. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures aimed at reducing energy costs across the site.
7. Comply with current health, safety, food safety, and hygiene legislation.
8. Perform any additional duties as reasonably required by management.
Qualifications and Skills
* Recognized electrical and/or mechanical engineering qualification.
* Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
* Skills in electrical controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, and turning (advantageous).
* Ability to plan and organize resources effectively.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative.
* Effective communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Additional Information
Location: St Leonards, Hastings
Contract: Full-time
Hours: 40 hours/week, 08:30-16:30 for the first month, then changing to 14:00-22:30
Salary: Starting from £33,084.13
Experience preferred in roles such as Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, among others.
