Wehave a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced Operating DepartmentPractitioner to join our team of Intensive Care and theatre ODPs. The successful post holder will initiate andcontribute to the care provision of the critically ill patient, within thegeneral adult Intensive Care unit, as part of the multidisciplinary teamensuring a high standard of care and quality service is delivered within a safeenvironment for patients, staff and visitors alike.
Withinthis role you will also cover the satellite ODP theatre areas and providesupport for the acute response team.This post would be ideal for someone with a keen interest in medical,non-medical and simulation training, as you will work closely with oureducation team and provide two days a month supporting training with themedical education team.
Wecurrently provide 13 Intensive care beds in our new purpose built and state ofthe art ICU. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and forward-thinkingindividual, who is looking to further develop existing skills in thisenvironment.
Main duties of the job
To work effectively within the multi-disciplinary team without directsupervision to provide technical and clinical support within Critical Care.
To provide skilled assistance to the anaesthetist in the provision ofanaesthetic and monitoring procedures.
Tolead a team of staff in the delivery of the highest quality care to thecritically ill patient and their families.
Todisseminate his/her expert clinical and theoretical knowledge and skills to allteam members.
To effectively appraise/develop his/herteam of staff.
To assist with all assist with all bronchoscopies, tracheostomiesand intubations on the Intensive care unit.

* 1st level registered nurse / Degree or Diploma in Operating dept. practice or equivalent
* First Line management Course
* Recognised teaching qualification i.e. Mentor preceptorship course D32/33 or ENB 997/998 teaching and assessing
