Closing Date 15/04/2026 Technical Training Lead Location: Hampshire Fullerton, Millbrook(Hybrid – approx. 3 days across sites/offices, remainder WFH) Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 37 per week Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum (depending on experience) Benefits: Company van will be provided, therefore driving licence essential About the Role We’re looking for a highly empowered Technical Training Lead who is passionate in delivering and increasing internal knowledge and capability to help develop the standards of our operations within our wastewater teams. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where you’ll deliver technical training both in the classroom and out on site, supporting colleagues to work safely, confidently, and in line with regulatory expectations. You’ll design and deliver engaging learning solutions, work closely with subject matter experts, and ensure our training content is accurate, consistent, and fit for purpose. No two days will be the same, one day you could be running a practical assessment in the field, and the next you could be shaping new learning pathways or updating digital training resources. What You’ll Be Doing Designing and developing high‑quality technical training materials for wastewater operations Creating structured learning pathways across our internal competency framework Identifying skills gaps and creating targeted development solutions Delivering confident, presenting technical information in an engaging classroom and practical training sessions to a wide range of audiences Leading group discussions that encourage knowledge‑sharing and inclusive learning practices Coaching and mentoring learners to build confidence and competence Conducting technical assessments on our internal colleagues to ensure consistent operational standards are met through regular training attendance and workshops Supporting wider training initiatives, improvement projects, and knowledge‑sharing activity Essential Skills & Experience Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to different audiences in a creative way Strong passion for developing and supporting our frontline operations teams by building their competency by way of shaping and tailoring the learning contents based on specific outcomes defined by our regulators Confident in facilitating and delivering both classroom and hands‑on practical training effectively to operators, managers, and senior stakeholders Proactive in identifying learning needs and building relevant solutions Experience creating engaging training materials and/or e‑learning content Desirable Extensive experience within wastewater operations Strong understanding of regulatory and safety requirements Relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g., AET, Business Coaching) Progression opportunities Southern Water offers career progression, training, and development opportunities.
