About the Role

Alex is an endearing 22 -year-old young man who has a happy and playful disposition. He has autism and learning disabilities. As his family we have always held high aspirations for him to live a good and full life doing the things that he loves the most.

With the right people around him we believe that he can achieve this and live the best life.

Alex is at his happiest when he is riding the escalators and lifts in shopping centres. He loves the outdoors and feeling the breeze through his hair. When he wants to unwind, he likes nothing more than watching his favourite episodes of Teletubbies and Thomas the Tank Engine on YouTube.

Those that are sensitive to Alex’s moods will be able to reassure him when he anxious and recognise when he needs his own company. Intensive interaction is important for Alex, but he will choose when he would like to do this with the team. Alex likes his team to read stories with him, play pat-a-cake games and likes it when his team members repeat what he has said in the same tone.

Alex is looking for fun and active team members that are confident, positive, active and able to set clear boundaries so that Alex feels safe.
