Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a System Requirements Engineer to be based at our customers site in Gaydon .
Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.

The Role:

Were seeking a technically adept and methodical System Requirements Engineer to lead Level 5 requirements engineering and systems integration for cutting-edge Battery Management Systems (BMS). Youll drive hardware and functional integration of SDU controls, CSC modules, and WGM hardware, ensuring compliance, performance, and traceability throughout the development lifecycle.

Area of Responsibility:

Requirements Engineering
Define, decompose, and manage Level 5 system requirements for BMS functional and hardware components
Ensure traceability across architectural levels, safety requirements, and customer specifications
Coordinate with verification teams to define test cases and support validation planning
Functional Integration
Integrate control functions across SDU, CSC, and WGM domains into a coherent system architecture
Facilitate interface management and signal mapping across hardware and software components
Ensure system-level consistency and compatibility across mechanical, electrical, and control domains
Hardware Delivery Oversight
Oversee development and delivery of hardware components such as cell supervision circuits, wiring harnesses, and gateway modules
Align hardware implementation with functional safety and quality standards (ISO 26262, IATF 16949)
Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams for timely delivery, documentation, and integration
Lifecycle Support & Compliance
Support DFMEA/PFMEA activities to assess and mitigate risks across BMS functions
Participate in technical reviews, audits, and change control processes
Drive compliance with design controls, safety norms, and regulatory expectations

Knowledge / Experience:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline
Experience in automotive or energy storage systems engineering
Proven expertise in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion)
Familiarity with SDU control logic, cell supervision electronics, and gateway module hardware
Solid understanding of automotive BMS architecture, integration practices, and safety standards
Desirable:
Knowledge of embedded systems development and software-hardware co-design
Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for signal modeling and fault simulation
Exposure to CAN protocols, diagnostic design, and E/E architecture
