Overview
We are recruiting a Band 6 Specialist Radiographer to work in our multidisciplinary cardiac catheter laboratories and interventional radiology suites at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform a wide range of radiographic procedures to high imaging and patient care standards.
* Coordinate workload and prioritize patients in line with clinical need.
* Provide effective leadership, act as a role model, delegate and supervise junior staff.
* Maintain and promote high radiographic standards, ensuring adherence to IRMER, IRR, Ionising Radiation Regulations and evidence‑based guidelines.
* Ensure patient safety, risk management and compliance with health, safety and security legislation.
* Communicate complex information to patients, relatives and other healthcare professionals sensitively.
* Participate in education and training of junior staff and undertake professional development.
* Use information technology systems as required.
* Support the team in coronary angiography, pacemaker insertions and other interventional procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered Radiographer (HCPC) with a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or DCR.
* Band 6 level experience, or equivalent clinical experience.
* Proven ability to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
* Effective communication and organisational skills.
* Knowledge of IRMER, IRR and Ionising Radiation Regulations.
