Our client, a well-established global organisation based just outside Southampton, is looking to recruit a Purchasing Assistant / Expeditor to join their busy and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience and develop a career within buying and procurement.
The Role
*
Placing, progressing and expediting purchase orders
*
Chasing suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries
*
Maintaining and updating supplier and vendor data, including pricing, lead times and product ranges
*
Forecasting and planning future stock requirements
*
Assisting with sourcing and introducing new products
*
Managing your own workload, with a line manager based in Europe
The ideal candidate
*
Previous office-based experience is essential
*
Experience in purchasing, buying or procurement is desirable but not essential
*
Confident communicator, comfortable dealing with suppliers and colleagues at all levels
*
Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
*
Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
*
IT literate, with good working knowledge of Excel and Word
*
Self-motivated with a proactive approach
