Job Title: Deputy Manager – Children's Home
Location: Hitchin, Hertfordshire
Salary: £33,000 – £38,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time | Monday to Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Manager to join our well-established and settled Children's Home in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
Our home is currently rated 'Good' by Ofsted and is run by a passionate and experienced team, including a Registered Manager, two Team Leaders, and dedicated care staff. We're now looking for a highly motivated, skilled, and compassionate individual to support the Registered Manager and help lead the team to deliver outstanding care.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager in the daily running of the home
* Lead the team and ensure high standards of care and safeguarding
* Step into the Registered Manager's role during their absence
* Monitor and improve the quality of care, bringing new ideas to the team
* Contribute to a positive, therapeutic environment for children and staff
* Take budgetary responsibility when required
What We're Looking For
* NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent in line with Children's Homes Regulations)
* NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or willingness to work towards it)
* At least 1 year of experience working with children in the past 5 years
* A full UK driving licence
* Passionate, committed, and ambitious individual
* Strong safeguarding knowledge and child-centred approach
