Purpose of the Role

The Service Engineer will provide technical support, maintenance, and service delivery for mobile and permanent medical facilities, and related systems. Based primarily on the road, this role focuses on field-based engineering activities, supporting the delivery of high-quality service in compliance with regulatory standards and customer expectations.

The Service Engineer will play an active part in preventative and corrective maintenance, installation and servicing of equipment, and regulatory inspection and certification of assets. Reporting into the Engineering Manager, the role contributes directly to ensuring service excellence, compliance, and customer satisfaction.


Role Overview

The Service Engineer will be responsible for:

* Performing preventative and corrective maintenance of mobile and hard medical facilities.
* Supporting current and future company project delivery.
* Assisting with installation and setup of equipment and systems.
* Coordinating tasks to ensure compliance and safety.
* Supporting service operations at Upper Heyford, Warrington and Brentwood Depot’s when required.
* Acting as a competent second person to support other service providers.

Compensation includes a fully expensed company van, laptop, and mobile phone. Full product and safety training will be provided.


Key Responsibilities


Service Delivery

* Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment.
* Support the servicing and repair of customer and loaner assets.
* Install, configure, and test equipment in workshop and field settings.
* Ensure all service activities are carried out safely and in line with regulatory standards.


Operational Support

* Coordinate daily tasks in line with priorities set by the centralised scheduling team.
* Maintain accurate service records within the company’s management systems.
* Ensure compliance with standards and internal quality processes.


Safety and Compliance

* Promote a safety-first culture across all activities.
* Follow company procedures and UK regulations governing medical facilities servicing.
* Assist with audits and ensure accurate documentation of service tasks.


Customer Service

* Support customer requirements both at client sites and depot locations.
* Assist in resolving technical issues promptly and professionally.
* Maintain a client-first approach to ensure service excellence.


Training and Development

* Undertake ongoing product and compliance training provided by the company.
* Support the onboarding of new team members by sharing knowledge and best practice.
* Actively develop technical skills to support career growth within the Service Department.


Work Hours

* Full-time position: Monday to Friday, 50 hours per week, with a 1-hour break each day.
* At least 1 week in every 6, provide 24/7 on-call coverage.
* Occasional travel outside of normal geographical boundaries and overnight stays may be required.
* Flexibility is expected to meet operational demands.


Performance Expectations

* Maintain high standards of service delivery and compliance.
* Achieve individual performance and training targets.
* Contribute to depot efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.


Qualifications and Experience

Qualified to at least Level 3, with a minimum 3 years’ experience in a service-based or technical engineering environment, in one of the following disciplines:

* Chiller/Refrigeration/Air-Conditioning and current holder of: City & Guilds 2079-11 or equivalent Category 1 certification.
* Electrician, holding 18th Edition certification and proficiency toward BS 7671 wiring regulations.
* Mechanical (Hydraulic/Pneumatic) with electrical competence, in one of the following: Tail Lift, Generator or Plant.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Proficiency operating Microsoft and Apple devices.
* Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Organisational ability to manage tasks and deadlines.
* Knowledge and recorded competence to conduct EICR inspections.
* Experience of maintaining Fire Alarm Panels and associated systems.
* Knowledge of LOLER 1998 and LEEA Certification
* Professional Registration.
* Familiarity with ISO standards.
* Relevant engineering or technical qualifications.

The successful applicant will be required to undergo a DBS application.
