Enforcement Manager - Heat Networks
Salary: National: £55,836 - £62,823; London: £59,450 - £66,338. An additional pay enhancement of up to £2,125 per annum may be available for eligible candidates.
Contract: Permanent
Working pattern: Full time, job share, or part time
Location: Birmingham or Teddington

Heat network legislation is key to the UK's net zero ambitions, and in this role, you'll contribute to reducing carbon emissions, protecting consumers, and fostering a fair energy market. Leading a team of enforcement officers and technical experts, you'll develop operational plans, enforce compliance, and support industry improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and implementing technical standards and regulations for heat metering and networks.
* Leading enforcement activities to ensure industry compliance.
* Providing guidance to support business improvement.
* Building organizational collaboration for consistent regulatory practices.
* Responding to inquiries and providing expert advice to government.
* Supporting the development of new legislation.
Who we're looking for
You should have a degree or equivalent in engineering or a related field, with the ability to quickly acquire and apply technical knowledge, especially in metering and heat network systems. Strong analytical skills are essential for interpreting complex data and informing decisions. Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to build relationships with industry stakeholders, policymakers, and consumers.
A creative, strategic thinker capable of developing effective plans and adapting to changing priorities is required. Leadership qualities include inspiring and motivating teams and collaborating across the organization. Experience in delivering technical regulation or operational projects within the utilities sector is advantageous. Occasional travel across the UK may be required.
